1 Attention! Indonesia Internship 11/16/2009 Details
The Fulbright Program has announced a fascinating opportunity for sophomores and juniors: The Freeman Indonesia Nonprofit Internship Program (FINIP), funded by the Freeman Foundation, aims to develop student leaders and strengthen the nonprofit sector in Indonesia. IIE will select and pair 10 Indonesian students pursuing U.S. degrees with 10 U.S. undergraduates and arrange internships for them to work together in an Indonesian nonprofit organization.

The 9-week experience, from June 15 to August 17, 2010, arranged by IIE’s partner organization, the Indonesian International Education Foundation (IIEF), will take place in three cities: Jakarta, Bandung and Yogyakarta. All program-related costs will be covered.

Upon returning to the U.S., students will be expected to share their experiences with peers on their home campuses and to explore ways to incorporate what they learned over the summer into their academic and professional careers.
The deadline is February 19, but you need to start working on the application well in advance. Contact Uschi Appelt for more information.
2 Read this! Journalism in Germany! 11/13/2009 Details
Freie Universität Berlin and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) are pleased to announce the third year of an intensive scholarship-supported summer seminar/internship program in Berlin for American journalism and communications students. We would be delighted and very grateful if you could help us spread the word about this exciting new opportunity among your students, faculty and fellow staff. The program is targeted primarily at currently enrolled undergraduate students, but a limited number of graduating Seniors, recent graduates and Master's students may be accepted as well. Applicants must have at least "advanced intermediate" German skills to take part in the program, as the seminars and internships take place in the German language. The 20 applicants who are finally selected for the program will be awarded a monthly stipend of 650 Euros for the duration of their stay in Germany. DAAD will also provide participants a partial travel subsidy of 650-950 Euros (depending on US city of origin) towards the cost of international transportation to Germany; travel costs not covered by the partial subsidy must be paid by the individual program participants themselves. DAAD will also provide health and accident insurance. There will be a program fee of 140 Euros.

The application deadline is January 31, 2010. See Uschi Appelt if you are interested in applying. appelt@hanover.edu; 7221

5 Read this! Health Justice Scholarship 11/11/2009 Details
The Villers Fellowship for Health Care Justice was created in 2005 by Philippe Villers, Founder and President of Families USA. Villers Fellows work in our health policy department and assist our organization's efforts to improve access to health coverage for all Americans, especially for low-income and other vulnerable communities. Specifically, Villers Fellows will conduct research on a range of health care policy issues, and write and contribute to publications that are relevant to current health policy debates.
In creating the fellowship, Mr. Villers aspired to develop a network of young leaders who share a passion for health care justice. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to health care justice work following their year as a fellow. Additionally, in order to encourage the development of future leaders, Villers Fellows must commit to mentoring at least one person over the course of their careers.
The application deadline for the Villers Fellowship is January 15, 2010.

Hello! This is a Job Wanted Ad!! My name is Shelby Bennett and I am a freshman at Hanover College! I am hoping to be able to babysit to earn money to help pay for my tuition. I am experienced in child care. As a student in highscool I had multiple classes in Child Educare; two of which had a preschool program where we taught the students 3 days a week. Also, I was in a Child Educare class where I was placed at a child care preschool/nursery. After the school year was up, I accepted a job there for the summer.
